Forensic Interviews A forensic interview is a structured conversation with a child conducted by a trained counselor following a nationally recognized protocol. The forensic interviewer asks non-leading, developmentally appropriate questions regarding the trauma the child has experienced. Referrals for forensic interviews are received by law enforcement or the Department of Human Resources. The burden of prevention and protection belongs to adults who are responsible for the health and safety of children. Therefore, we train adults and older adolescents who work in community organizations to recognize potential opportunities for abuse. This prevention program will benefit both children and adults as we aim to continually create communities where children can thrive. In accordance with Erin's Law, our program aims to equip children to build healthy lifestyles by teaching them about personal safety.
